Perform assessments with special reference to developmental processes (e.g., career choice) and adjustment. Identify psychopathology and its impact on developmental processes and adjustment. Identify and diagnose a broad range of disorders of adjustment.
I am a qualified registered Educational Psychologist with the South African Health Professions Council consulting in Nelspruit. I have a strong interest in working with children and adolescents of all ages for a variety of difficulties. I focus especially on parents (parental guidance) in supporting them with everyday challenges in their parenting.
I completed my teaching degree (BPrimEd), as well as my Honours and Masters Degrees in Educational Psychology at the University of Pretoria. I have been in the private practice for 13 years, which of 6 years I have been working as a senior Educational Psychologist in the UK. This has prepared me to design and implement psychotherapeutic interventions for a wide range of psychological difficulties, and to address the associated needs using psychological theory, therapeutic techniques, and psycho-diagnostic assessments.
I am passionate about children and facilitating their growth to enable them to lead society in a new area. I find it very rewarding to work with parents, equipping them with the right skills in supporting their children.
